GHK-Cu Skin & Hair Density Protocol

Skin matrix support and scalp/hair density

BeginnerGHK-CuLast reviewed 2026-08-29

Overview

GHK-Cu is used two distinct ways in enthusiast practice: as a topical serum/cream for skin, or via injection/microneedling to the scalp for hair-density goals. The two use-cases have very different dosing conventions — this entry covers both, listed separately.

Dosing schedule

Informational only — not medical advice.

PhaseAmountFrequencyTimingRoute
Topical — skin2–3% solution1x/dayPMtopical
Scalp — microneedled/injected1–2 mg per session1–2x/weeksubcutaneous injection

Administration

Topical: apply to clean, dry skin. Injectable/scalp use: reconstitute with bacteriostatic water; many users combine with microneedling for scalp delivery rather than a plain injection.

Cycle length

12 weeks on. Skin/hair endpoints are slow — most protocols run continuously for a minimum 8–12 week block before assessing effect.

Precautions

  • Copper peptides can cause contact irritation in some users — patch-test topical use first.
  • Avoid combining high-dose oral vitamin C or strong antioxidant serums immediately before/after topical application (may reduce stability).
  • No controlled long-term safety data for chronic injectable/scalp use.
